Gap is a commune in south-eastern France, the capital and largest settlement of the Hautes-Alpesdepartment. At 750m above sea level, it is France's highest prefecture. During the summer months, the association of merchants of the town centre Les Vitrines de Gap organises Nocturnes. These are musical and festive events accompanied by the opening of stores downtown from 7pm until 11pm. Each year an Expo Fair also takes place at the Parc de la Pépinnière during May.
