Lake Maggiore Italy

Lake Maggiore is a vast lake situated on the southern side of the Alps, within the Italian Lake District and the northern part of Switzerland. It is a sizable lake positioned on the southern side of the Alps. It ranks as the second largest lake in Italy and the largest in southern Switzerland. The lake and its shoreline are split between the Italian regions of Piedmont and Lombardy and the Swiss canton of Ticino. Positioned halfway between Lake Orta and Lake Lugano, Lake Maggiore stretches approximately 65 km between Locarno and Arona. The stunning landscape surrounding Lake Maggiore provides unparalleled convention facilities. The region, encompassing the provinces of Novara and Varese and the Canton Ticino, with its natural and artistic splendors, has a long-standing tradition in the meeting and convention hosting industry. Natural parks in the area include the Val Grande National Park, the largest wilderness area in Italy, the Alpe Veglia and Devero Regional Park, and the Wildlife Oasis of Macugnaga, situated on the lower slopes of Monte Rosa. The Lake Maggiore region is distinguished by its ancient villages, stunning valleys, and awe-inspiring lake and mountain vistas. The Walser people have left their unique architectural legacy in the villages of Macugnaga in the Anzasca Valley and Formazza in the Formazza Valley. The age-old settlements of the Vigezzo Valley are strikingly beautiful, with their houses and churches that are typical of the Alpine environment.
